Description :
This reaction time applet contains an image of the "christmas tree" which will change according to appropriate situations giving the perception of the lights lighting one after the other.
I have used a thread to delay the displaying of the image until the appropriate times. There is a .5 second delay between each light until the green light is lit on the competition tree; however,
there is only a .4 second delay on the pro tree, which also lights all three yellow lights at the same time then the green.
Therefore, the user is attempting to obtain a .500 reaction time on the competition tree and .400 reaction time on the pro tree.
There are several ways the user can practice, such as with the regular or pro tree. A delay box option will also be available that allows the users to set a "delay" for the reaction of the vehicle and allows them to leave off the top bulb of the tree, even an option for a 2-Hit delay, which allows the user to react to the top bulb and the bottom bulb letting the computer pick which reaction was better and using it. It will even display which "hit" was used, the first or the second. The following statistics will be provided with each reaction - Best, worst, average, number of attempts, redlights. The best and the worst are the best light > .500 and worst is the worst < 1.000. Average is the average reaction time, while redlights is the number of redlights.
Redlights are not figured into the average as they would taint the average to be lower than it really is, they are simplied ignored from the average.
Another useful addition to the applet is a graph of the reaction times showing the "trend" the of the user. It is much easier to see how the user is doing with the visual reference of the graph.
The graph displays reaction times from .300 to .700, colored red if they are considered a redlight, colored yellow if they are within .025 of a perfect reaction, and colored green otherwise.
The graph will show 32 reaction times, with an arrow pointing to the most recent, after the first 32, the graph will scroll to the right, making the most recent to the far right and eliminating the ones to the far left.
There will be several other options available to the user. One is the ability to change the "rollout". Rollout is the time it takes for the vehicle to un-break the "beams" of the staging lights and start the ET timer.
Many things affect the rollout such as tire diameter, weight of vehicle, stall converter size, suspension travel, and air pressure in the front tires. On the applet there will be a textfield where the user can enter their "rollout".
Special Instruction:
When reset is hit, the buttons change to yes and no, this is for confirmation of reset, if you hit reset
by accident
